URBAN BIRDING is a tourist product that brings together different companies in the region: official tourist guides, ornithological guides, and nature guides; activity, photography and related companies; lodges, restaurants, and culinary establishments; art studios and drawing and painting workshops. Its aim is to present you with a diverse and quality range of tourist options that allow you to get to know and observe this falcon, the second smallest in the world, which nests in our urban centers in colonies.
We have developed URBAN BIRDING as a product that combines two of Extremadura's main strategic tourist resources: bird watching (an activity which our region is a national and international leader of) and a broad and rich architectural heritage, in the case of Cáceres, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a Cultural Interest Asset categorized as a monumental ensemble that spans the urban SPAs that are part of the product.
URBAN BIRDING brings together a wide variety of tourist activities and experiences which allow travelers to learn, enjoy, and observe lesser kestrels in their urban habitats and in the nearby areas where they are commonly found -- experiences that have been included in a catalog that you can get in tourist offices or download from the Life ZEPAURBAN Project website.
And all this combined with other tourism resources that Extremadura offers, such as its rich historical/artistic heritage, its enviable nature, and the quality of its culinary delights. And, of course: the warmth, friendliness, and hospitality of its people.
